As a
May 2008 graduate from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University in New Orleans, Tara
joins the team with a plethora of marketing experience, including a full time internship at Trumpet
Advertising, the largest marketing firm in Louisiana. Additionally, Tara served as VP of Marketing for
InExchange, a fair trade retail store created and operated by Tulane University students, and as VP of
Programs for the Tulane University chapter of the American Marketing Association.
As a graduating senior, Tara managed a full course load while also working over twenty
hours a week at Trumpet Advertising. During her tenure at Trumpet, Tara assisted in brand strategy for
numerous local and national accounts including the New Orleans Hornets, Logic Homes, and the New Orleans
Police Department. Tara also contributed creative content to 24NOLA.com, a tourism website for the city
of New Orleans, and assisted in generating over 15,000 hits for a YouTube video created by the agency
for the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau. Simultaneously, Tara was serving as VP Programs for
the American Marketing Association at Tulane University, where she was responsible for the planning and
execution of all chapter meetings, including securing guest speakers, refreshments, and site
arrangements.
As VP of Marketing for InExchange, Tara served as the backbone for publicity and
fundraising for the not-for-profit fair trade store. In its earliest stages, Tara collaborated with the
President of the organization to create a business plan, map out strategic marketing functions, and host
a fundraiser that involved the sale of local, national, and foreign fairly traded products donated by
the community to ensure the launch of the initiative.
During her tenure at theONswitch, Tara has drafted numerous highly effective press
releases and secured media for a local non-profit in a variety of regional publications including The
Westchester County Business Journal and The Journal News. In addition, she created an extensive press
list of over 200 media outlets aimed at maximizing effective exposure for a new spa opening in
Westchester, and assisted in the drafting of a fundraising proposal to help leverage a client’s public
image.
Tara holds a Bachelors of Science in Management with a concentration in Marketing. A
self-proclaimed "hobby junkie," Tara fills her free time trying new things. Her most recent
accomplishments include sky-diving and learning to play guitar. This curiosity and passion for learning
is what allows her to fully immerse herself in whatever it is she’s doing – from jumping out of an
airplane to drafting a creative brief for a client of theONswitch.
